There is now a boy.

For the last twenty years, I have been surrounded by girls. One at a time, they have joined me, until there were the five of us. For years, we lived alone, just 5 females in a house. I still find all the sympathetic looks I got through those years so peculiar. As if having four daughters was so overwhelming, so daunting that I needed every ounce of their heartfelt emotional support.
Were there mood swings?
Hormones?
Spats?
So many.
But it was wonderful. More than wonderful.
When it was just the five of us.

Then, The Husband came into the picture. But this isn't about him.

Then, #1 met her Prince. And such a Prince he is. What a Husband!! He get's two exclamation points from me, his Mother-in-Law. And if you have a Mother-in-Law, you should be very impressed by this.

So then it was them........

And Then!

The BOY.

I do admit, when we found out the baby was a boy, we all (#1 included) spent a few perplexed days. It was, to say the least, a little confusing. It wasn't our pattern. We are a family of girls.

But confusion changed to anticipation which changed to excitement which grew each day until I thought my heart would burst.

And then, he came.
Just look at him.
This young lady is his Great Grandma. That's right.

He is the most perfect baby ever to grace the Earth.
Ever.

And there is still more to come.... stay tuned.
