108 Panthers

 So, 3 started Junior High.
She is officially a Payne Panther.
We knew from day one she would try out for volleyball.

Now, I love me some Mesa.
But the Mesa School district doesn't have competitive teams for 7th and 8th grade.
Chandler School District?  Heck Yeah!
(we live in Gilbert but our schools are in Chandler District, it's confusing, it confuses me, I'm confused.  But CUSD is at the top, so whatevs!)

Anyways.  She shows up at the first day of tryouts.
And so do 107 other girls.

For 12 spots.

108 girls.

I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous.
I mean, she had one year of club, but so did probably every one else.
Some of them 2 or 3 years, who knows?

And to make it worse, the last day of tryouts I was on my way
to Utah, and I couldn't even be there.  I made her swear to call
me AS SOON as she found out.

She didn't.

So here I am, sitting in a car speeding toward Utah, and my heart
is breaking, because I am sure she isn't calling me because she didn't make it.

FINALLY, I get a hold of her.  She is confused why I am so agitated.

Of course she made it.

I'm still going to kill her over that one.
Fast forward to now....after 3 games, 2 away and 1 home,
our little 7th grade Panthers are 3 and 0.

Three.  And O.

And 3 is doing awesome!  She is playing setter, which is new for her.
Her serve is amazing, her instincts are awesome.

And her coach gave her one of the best compliments ever.
If you have ever coached any sport you will understand.

She said: "The best thing about her is she takes my corrections, every time, and tries to implement them, she is very coachable."

That's my girl.
Dear 3:
You are welcome for
coaching you so much at home
that you are naturally coachable
at volleyball.

You are very welcome.

xoxoxo,
Mom
