Dreamy Turns Fourteen.

(taken this morning as I was dropping Dreamy off at the bus stop)

Dear 3:

Oh 3!
I have so many things I want to tell you today.

You are Fourteen.
I know it is silly, but that sounds SO much older than Thirteen.

Thirteen is still little girlish.
Fourteen is a full blown teenager.

You are a teenager for real.  Today!
I feel like I need to tell you grown up things now.
And even though I can't tell you everything I want you to know today...
I can tell you some things:

Love others.
Don't save your cute clothes for special occasions.
Send Thank You cards, always.
Don't have negative thoughts, ever.
Wear perfume.
Encourage people.
Encourage yourself.
Don't ever look back, unless it makes you happy.
Wear heels.
Wear wedges.
Wear flats.
Wear whatever makes you feel pretty.
Always wear earrings.
Trust Heavenly Father, his way is the only right way.
Don't trust anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.
Especially not boys.
Keep your eye on the prize.
The prize is at Main and Mesa Drive, or Pecos and Greenfield.
Pick one, doesn't matter.
Keep your eye on it and do whatever it takes to get there.
Be kind to others, always.
Wear a lot of blue.  You should always wear blue.
Work hard.
Play hard.
Study hard.
Be the kind of friend you would want to have.
You can do hard things.
Know your worth.
Know that Heavenly Father loves you.
More than anything.

But next to Him, know that I love you the most.
No matter what.
I have always loved you and I will always love you.

And I am so proud of you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

xo,
Mom
