NOOOOOOOOO!

Number 1 was born October 12 1989. She has made it all this time without once taking a pair of scissors to her hair and chopping herself bald. That is 20 3/4 years if you are counting.

Number 2 was born October 8, 1993. She has made it all this time without once taking a pair of scissors to her hair and chopping herself bald. That is 16 3/4 years if you are counting.

Number 3 was born September 9, 1999 (9/9/99, you're welcome 3 and you are VERY welcome 3's future husband). She has made it all this time without once taking a pair of scissors to her hair and chopping herself bald. That is 10 3/4 years if you are counting.

Number 4 was born on April 13, 2002. In 2004, when she was 2 1/2, after church one Sunday, she went in her room and shut the door and cut off her PIGGY TAILS all the way down to her scalp. She looked like a baby Ellen Degeneres for a year. I cried at least 17 times over that.

In 2006, when she was 4, she allowed her friend Ireland to play hairdresser on her and chop her hair from the middle of her back to above her shoulders. I paddled her butt and cried about 9 times over that one.

On June 7, 2010, when she was 8 years old, And old enough to know better, she got a huge tangle in her hair and nonchalantly got the biggest scissors she could find and chopped off the entire front of her all one length perfect bob. Because that made so much more sense than getting someone to help her get the tangle out. And she got her butt paddled and I'm still crying.

I. Don't. Do. Bangs.

Ug.

So my baby went from this:

To this:
And spare me the "Oh she's so cute" "It's so adorable" "It will grow back in like three years."
I'm just too bitter to hear it right now.
Just not a bangs fan.
But I AM a 4 fan. And I will find a way to live through it.
Thanks for all the support, those of you who know.
And thanks to the best hairdresser in the galaxy, the talented Ms. Rain. You are my hero.
And I will Keep Calm and Carry On.
Because my Baby has bangs.
Dangit.

  2. YOU cut your hair at the age of 3, but never did again. My mother used to make me sit for a LONG TIME while she put ringlets in my hair. I went behind the couch and CUT OFF every ringlet to about an inch from my head - EVERY SINGLE ONE! I had a boy (and I mean BOY) haircut for a long time! She cried and cried and cried. I am still sorry!!!!!

  3. yep, i chopped my hair twice... AND tried shaving my legs when I was 3 due to the fact my brothers called me a gorilla. Unfortunately my mom caught me before I could actually put the razor to my legs.
