Anyways, I did love my mantle, but something was missing. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I was thisclose, but couldn't figure it out.
Then there was the trip last Saturday to Goodwill. And that's when I saw it. The little white ceramic bird. The perfect little white ceramic bird that cost 1.99. And look how it completes my mantle! It just really completes it.
It's perfect.
Thank you to M. Meyers, from Sun City, Arizona, who painted the little birdy in some fabulous ceramic class, as noted on the bottom of the little birdy. Thank you M. Meyers from the bottom of my heart.
I now l.o.v.e. my mantle.
Mommy likey.
She wanted a small floral arrangement for one of her shelves, and this is what we came up with. Those black round things aren't shadows, they are pom pom flowers. Aren't they awesome? And the bird. Holy Moly, the bird is the bomb.
I created this arrangement myself. It was a big moment for me, as floral arrangements usually completely intimidate me.
Like this one, below. This is the arrangement I imagined in my head but in no way had the wherewithal to attempt. No. Way. It is in my entry way and it is ridiculously spectacular and it has aqua flowers and hot pink feather flowers and red flowers and baby apples. They thought I was crazy in the brain when I was picking out my flowers, but I had a vision. And I love it. But did I arrange it? Heck to the no. That's why I'm so super excited about the shabby arrangement. Yay!
