2 has been working. And dreaming about dating The Senator, pictured below. They were frenetically in like. But now he is a state away at BYU and she is, sadly, still in high school. The world just isn't fair. IT ISN'T!!! Except that she is beautiful and annoyingly good at math. And the 2011-2012 MHS student body secretary. And that is a pretty big deal. She ran a great campaign and I am so proud of her for even putting herself out there. I would have been too chicken. I only tried out for things I knew I would make. Not my 2, it was hard work and it was scary and she didn't know if she would win and then she did. And that's how she does it.
5 has been sleeping over at my house and helping 2 crash Toro parties. Calm down Grandma Annie, we are talking Mormon parties. With lots and lots of spectacularly un-wild kids. I hope. Anyways, I really, really, really love 5. And she loves me too.
3 has been going to volleyball camp. The 7-9th grade volleyball camp. And she is only in 6th grade. She rocked it. I'm telling you, she is going to be goooooood. Get ready everybody. Oh, and Orchestra Camp. 4 also attended Orchestra Camp. 3 also helped 4 with all the guilt inducing swimming begging. She also single-handedly composed an entire verse of the Wimbledon song. You guys really should have them sing it to you. It's really good. Makes me want to smack them. But it's charming.
And me? Well. It's the best time of the year. Better than Santa. I really, really, really hope that when I die I can go live in Wimbledon, England and just repeat the last week of June and the first week of July of 1985, 1986, and 1989 over and over and over and over again. For EVER.
This is my new 2nd favorite girl. There's just something about her, I don't know. But I like it. I have become a true fan. As of today, she's kicking some trash over there. I haven't quizzed the kids on her yet, but they better be ready come September.
This girl? This is my all-time favorite girl ever. Except for maybe Steffi. But even then. I love her, love her game, love her outfits, love her personality, love her sportsmanship, love her attitude, LOVE her! She is injured and isn't playing at Wimbledon. I mourned for the week prior, but then had to snap out of it.
For him. Because goodness knows he isn't getting any younger. Grass is his best surface and he does have the best EVER serve in tennis. That's right. And I do quiz my kids on him and they do know pretty much everything about him. His hometown, his rank, his height, his fastest serve on record, you know, the basics. Ask them sometime. And cross your fingers and send good wishes his way. Do it for me.
