It was a little crazy, let me tell you. Usually, 3 and 4 are in Utah during July, and 2 is scarcely here. She is either in Utah with the others, or at Cheer Camp or Gymnastics Camp. Usually, me and The Husband are home alone. In the house. In the air-conditioning. Gazing at each other with love. And then we go to the movies.
Not this year.
This year, the girls didn't get invited to Utah. Which we figured out in the 11th hour.
So we scrambled. And this is what we did:
*2 Family Swims (endless games of Marco Polo)
*1 Girls Night Out Movie (Monte Carlo. Surprisingly Sweet)
*Church (of course)
*Family Dinner at Texas Roadhouse. (this didn't happen after church, of course, but the next day)
*The Tempe Town Lake Festival (along with 50 thousand other people. LOTS to do, and I have to say, it was totally worth it. Hands Down the best fireworks display I have ever seen, sorry Utah.)
*Homemade Chocolate Birthday Cake with Homemade Chocolate Icing and Red, White and Blue Sprinkles. (Because it was America's Birthday)
*Sparklers and Pop-Its in the Front Yard at Midnight in the middle of a Monsoon Dust storm. (We love our home-sweet-home Arizona!)
Pretty good for unplanned right? I mean, drooling over The Husband under the air conditioning would have been nice too. But being all together as a family? Nothing better. Nothing.
