Kicking And Screaming.

She is going to be a grown-up soon.

She is already 18.

But if you are still in high school, you are officially not a grown-up.

Soon she won't be in high school.

I don't understand why it has to go by so quickly.

It seems like I just woke up and this happened.

Like yesterday she was 10.

10 was a good year.
It's not so bad as it seems.
She will be heading off to ASU this fall.
But, smart girl that she is, she will live at home.
As a grown-up.
But still in her room.
A win-win, don't you think?

Dear 2:

Thanks for taking me to free pancake day today, even though the rest of Mesa High was there with friends and you were there with your Mom and the baby.  And you didn't care.  Because you are 2 and you have NEVER marched to their drum.  I'm not going to lie, I'm not excited for you to be a grown-up.  I AM excited for you to start paying your own phone bill.  But I would trade that in if you would stay with me forever.  Not really.  But this is still hard.  For me anyways.
