Date Night

I date my girls.

Always have, always will.

But date nights have gone by the wayside for awhile.

You know, May happened.

Then we moved.

And they were probably by the wayside

for longer than that, if I am honest with myself.

But we put an end to the waysidedness.

And we went on dates.

But we did double up.

Because we were all so anxious to date each other.

As I watched the girls get so excited for the dates

and talk about the dates

and plan the dates

and think about the dates,

I vowed right then and there:

No more waysiding.

Never again.

Because I date my girls.

Always have, always will.

Dear 1:

The first thing we are going to do

when you come in August is go

on a date.  No boys, just us.
